Fresh from the testdesk

Just a quick test – wouldn’t this kind of job integration into the map look cooler? It would need more UI for telling players that it is clickable, but still… I like it much more that way.

    Way Better, \o/

    😀

If you could change some icons to integrates even better it should be nice, like Hunting Wolves and Turkey that different from Bufalos, Grizzly and Coyotes that shows the hole animal, the 2 quoted shows only the face and a piece of respectly.

But Hunting Bufalos are cooler and clearer considering that at least 20 new jobs will fill the map, right ?!

Perhaps just make the background of the current job icons 90% transparent?

Great I like any good ways to make the map as coooooooooool as they come!

I believe diggo’s suggestion is better, just take clearing the forest job as an example – on some locations it won’t be easily visible on the map if the background is completely removed.

For me it’s a great idea! but I wonder … all job will be very hard to make translate…

I think even better would if there’s an image of that job instead of icon. Like this buffalo example: there would be herd of buffaloes on the map, or some other examples: felling trees – lumber camp, river fishing – fish swimming in river, granite mining – a mine at the hill.
    Almost like Age Of Empires.

It would be more natural integration into map.

    Nice idea.
But I’d like it much more if there was a herd of buffalos and not just one
And maybe a little indian village for trading or peace negotiations 🙂

It depends on the job. The bison looks good because it looks like it’s walking on the map. Something like charlatan would still be alright, even though a giant elixir bottle sitting on the prairie isn’t as natural. A lot of jobs wouldn’t work at all with the current icons, e.g. shining shoes and installing barbed wire.

Please, don’t do it. 🙁 Diggo11’s suggestion is better. I would keep jobs in the circle, it makes jobs more visible.

I prefer it like that… But maybe a wihte stripe all around the icon so it would still be ok to click?

I think that this will be really cool, but maybe for searching labor, it will be difficulter

The new job icons won’t work for this !
They are more like a picture of the job and has a background.

    nah,
the background shadow would look bad.

and some people would confuse a tree or a mountain as being a job.
there must be some way that it indicates the set or site is a job.

you know what would look cool and still tell players that its a job? Motion…

if that buffalo were to “walk” on the map, it would be easy to spot 🙂

    that would rule 8D

    @Kudram

Servus Kudram & Good Morning from Germany ! 😉
It´s a little bit late, till I found this.

Don´t get me wrong, but :

There´s MUCH work to do for our (whole) community, on the one side. 😉
    But ( normally I don´t say this !!! : ) I LOVE your game !

I think it would be best in this way :
Like you see above, and when you ´click´on it, maybe you get a ´mix´ between
the old spot ( blue point at first ), and then you see the buffalos running.

    Very visual I know.

Some ( of the younger ) Men are quite difficult to get in the point of
phantasy. But what I LOVE on this game is the ART, the ART, the ART…
    Great job, really !

I think for the start you have to ´connect´both.
Old & New, maybe bad luck. You will succeed !

But like I said : You´r guys are on a TERRIFIC way. Thumps up !

And Buffalo 45k players against World 10 15k players is like ´you´r on your way´here in Germany.

PLEASE : Don´t let it get TOO much like ´Die Stämme´over here.
Some stupids only like to play games where you shoot first, and ask later !
    Thx from Munich, Bavaria.

Would like to hear when you are ready to start world 13 ?!? ;-D
Keep on partying Gath, and let the good ideas roll !
    Cheers, German Rebel

It may work for some, but confusing for others.
However there were some people commenting on the number of jobs on the screen. I have an idea about that. Like the jobs we can’t do yet, the jobs we don’t want to do anymore can also fade. I don’t pick cotton unless I need it for an adventure, so it can mostly disappear.

had the west page open while i was working.
noticed a few errors in the animation in the top right hand corner.

i set my character to travel a few hours, and i i was working i could see and tell that he was travailing there.
i thought to my self, but he is riding there, not walking 🙂

putting an animation of you riding the horse, gives you the “feel” of speed, rushing to the battle.
riding a colt horse or a mustang to an adventure.

plus it just looks nice when you open your browser and it gives you an indication of what your character is doing.

it has the same effect as a clock, every now and then you stop and look at your watch, or the wall clock.<—–things that make you go hmmm
how people interact with their environment and the system.

problem is that too many animations would spoil the game, it would slow it down, they would have to be done very nice.
    time peace nice.
