After too many years working on The West to count, today is my last day as a developer at InnoGames before I move elsewhere to take on fresh challenges (again). Thank you to everyone in the community who supported me along the way with friendship, feedback and your passion that inspires us every day! (Especially to the lovely folk of en15 and zz1.) I’ll miss you all greatly.
Of course, I won’t be leaving you empty handed. We’re still waiting on the graphics, but over the next few updates, a couple of exciting fort features I developed will ship. Firstly, I’ve added a second retarget offliner button.This will allow your generals to give distinct one-time orders for high and low HP offline comrades. Secondly, I’ve added a forfeit flag button for the attackers. This will allow their generals to remove the flag from the battle map and force a fight to the end, either a team wipe or a stalemate.
I have great faith in the remaining and new team that will take over development of The West, to keep driving it forward with the fresh ideas and motivation it needs and deserves. I’ll miss having them as colleagues but eagerly await what they’ll create for us players. Maybe someday I’ll even be back for a third bite of the cherry! Until then, you can find me on the forums.
